Services

Engineered for Critical Systems

Water and wastewater systems demand more than off-the-shelf components. Pipestone Equipment provides engineered solutions that balance performance, reliability, and cost. From valves and gates to surge protection, vault systems, and custom packages, our services are designed to reduce risk, simplify installation, and ensure long-term system success.

Valves & Gates

We stock rugged and reliable water and wastewater valves; from air release to buried service butterfly and in between. We can offer slide/sluice gates or specialty fabricated valves.

Flow Control

Whether diaphragm operated hydraulic control or valves with pneumatic or electric actuators, we determine which features make economic sense for you, and test at our shop. Don’t worry, it’s under control.

Surge Protection

Keep your investment and your community safe! We can perform transient analysis and provide equipment to minimize potential damage in case of water hammer.

Education & Support

Empowering and sharing our expertise is important to us. Come visit our classroom, spend time in our flow lab, or request a technical presentation at your location.

Vault Systems

Save time and hassle by getting a pre-assembled vault delivered to the job-site. At our Annex facility, we build systems specific to your project requirements.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Water systems are complex, and the decisions behind them matter. This FAQ is designed to answer common questions about Pipestone Equipment, our services, and the manufacturers we represent. Whether you are an engineer, contractor, distributor, or system owner, these answers explain how we approach water infrastructure challenges and how our experience, products, and support help protect critical resources like water, time, and money.

About Pipestone Equipment

What does Pipestone Equipment specialize in?

Pipestone Equipment specializes in water infrastructure equipment and solutions, with a focus on valves, gates, flow control, surge protection, vault systems, and custom-engineered packages. We serve municipal and industrial water markets by understanding how each system operates and applying the right equipment for long-term performance, reliability, and efficiency.

We work closely with engineers, contractors, distributors, and end users throughout the entire project lifecycle. From application engineering and bidding support to project management, startup, and field service, Pipestone Equipment acts as a technical partner rather than just a supplier.
Our engineering perspective sets us apart. We take hands-on responsibility for understanding system behavior, evaluating risks, and selecting or designing solutions that make sense in real-world conditions. This analytical approach allows Pipestone Equipment to deliver solutions that are practical, durable, and tailored to each application.
Yes. In addition to supplying equipment, we provide application guidance, testing, education, and startup support. Our goal is to ensure that the equipment selected performs as intended within the system, reducing operational issues and long-term risk.
Pipestone Equipment is headquartered in Golden, Colorado, with additional offices serving Arizona, El Paso, and Montana. This regional presence allows us to provide responsive support while maintaining a deep understanding of local water infrastructure needs.

Services & Capabilities

What types of valves and gates does Pipestone Equipment provide?

We supply a wide range of rugged, reliable water and wastewater valves and gates, including air release valves, buried service butterfly valves, slide and sluice gates, and specialty fabricated valves. Each selection is based on system requirements, operating conditions, and long-term performance goals.

Flow control is about more than selecting a valve. We evaluate whether diaphragm-operated hydraulic control, pneumatic actuation, or electric actuation makes the most economic and operational sense for the application. When needed, equipment is tested in our shop to confirm performance before it reaches the field.

Surge protection helps prevent damage caused by transient events such as water hammer. Pipestone Equipment performs transient analysis and provides surge control equipment designed to protect pipelines, pumping systems, and communities from sudden pressure changes and system failures.

Education is a core part of our mission. We offer classroom training, access to our flow lab, and on-site technical presentations. By sharing knowledge and experience, Pipestone Equipment helps teams make better decisions and operate systems with confidence.

Vault systems are pre-assembled, project-specific packages built at our Annex facility and delivered ready for installation, saving time and reducing field labor. For unique challenges, we also design custom solutions that address specific system constraints, operating conditions, or performance goals.

Brands & Manufacturers

Why does Pipestone Equipment represent specific manufacturers?

We carefully select manufacturers whose products meet our standards for quality, reliability, and performance in water infrastructure applications. The brands we represent allow Pipestone Equipment to offer proven components as well as integrated, custom-designed systems.

We represent manufacturers covering a wide range of valve technologies, including double and triple offset valves, control valves, knife gate valves, butterfly valves, axial flow valves, and specialty fabricated valves. This breadth allows us to match the right valve to the right application.

We support our partner manufacturers like Dakota Pump and PumpTech PES to supply packaged pump stations, booster systems, wet wells, and control systems. These solutions are designed to integrate seamlessly into larger water management systems.

We work with manufacturers like Dakota Pump and PumpTech TES to supply packaged pump stations, booster systems, wet wells, and control systems. These solutions are designed to integrate seamlessly into larger water management systems.

Rather than pushing a single product, we evaluate system needs, operating conditions, and long-term goals. Pipestone Equipment uses its engineering expertise and product knowledge to guide customers toward the most effective solution using the brands we represent.

Team

The Team

Our team combines engineering expertise with hands-on industry experience. We work side-by-side with engineers, contractors, distributors, and system owners from concept through startup and beyond. By taking responsibility for understanding each system—not just supplying equipment—we become a trusted technical partner focused on solving problems and protecting critical resources.
